What is everyone's take?

Posted almost 12 years ago , by Echo

I'm just curious on everyone's opinion on the functionality of this projection/lucidity/obe, whichever you choose to call it.

I've chosen a select few people to share my stories to, and have had good responses for the most part (they don't think I'm crazy) but my mom does. She just can't see the point, though I know she would feel different if she had any idea what it feels like. I know I blew people off in the past when astral projection and lucid dreaming has come up, but now that I know what it's like, I obviously have no doubt of the realness of the experience.

Part of me views this as just a past time; a fun and interesting game I play by myself, separate from the rest of my life, a way to trick our minds to be more conscious of our dreams.

However, if I'm honest with myself, I can't deny the spirituality I feel each time I do it. When I come to and every inch of my being is vibrating, I feel liberated and happy, knowing its time to go off on some sort of adventure. Or the power I feel when I become lucid in the midst of a dream. We have the whole world at our minds hands, with no consequences for waking life if we should make mistakes.

I know it isn't useless..but what is the purpose?

Echo, you can use astral projection to for guidance in real life. Next time you exit, ask aloud your question to your real life problem, and most likely you will be shown an answer or symbolic hint.

I've learned that... you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
This is the case with people you meet throughout your life.

There was a quote going around on facebook the other day... paraphrasing, "It's not your job to drag the world kicking and screaming towards a new perspective... just keep doing what you're doing, secretly and quietly... and those with ears to hear and eyes to see will follow"

It's not our job to force people to learn or accept about non-physical exploration.  Those who wish to learn more, will find a way to learn.  :)

Part of me views this as just a past time; a fun and interesting game I play by myself, separate from the rest of my life, a way to trick our minds to be more conscious of our dreams.

And there's nothing wrong with that.  There is also a lot of good learning one can do while non-physical too though.  :)

Although, nothing really beats just flying around, eh?  :D

However, if I'm honest with myself, I can't deny the spirituality I feel each time I do it. The purpose is whatever you wish to make of it.
The purpose is as endless as the very possibilities of the experiences you can have!

I never talk alot about projection to anyone , you will be called crazy and maniac and they will never believe you! , i recommend you to keep it inside you and strenghten yourself with it , sharing such things with non astral projecting beliefers will lead them to say bad words and laugh at you which will reduce your trust in yourself :)

Yeah I only share with those I trust. But it is difficult and time consuming to explain the phenomenon, particularly when they haven't had any experiences themselves. It is so feeling based..it's hard to put into words as is.

On a side note, I've been dabbling in a little purpose findings of my own. I'm going to start writing all of my vivid dreams down. I'm hoping to later draw inspiration from them because I'm aspiring to be an author, plus it will hone my writing skills.

maybe next time I project I will try to ask a dream character about what I should write about :)

There's a really cool image I posted on my facebook page a couple weeks ago that would seem to apply here:

I've told people about my projections. I don't hold back. If they reject it and think I'm crazy, then it's on them, so be it. But a lot actually accept it and don't see me in a different way. Don't be afraid to speak truth. You don't have to impose. You can put it out there and it's up to others to accept or reject. But if you are a person of good character and practice honesty, it will show through.

First, Your words are perfect.

Second, i totally agree, but the problem is they won't only call you crazy, you will also lose their trust as they might think that you are crazy, PLUS! , they will make fun and jokes of you, thats the real problem, not on accepting or rejecting but also on insulting

Third, i dont blame them to be honest, its like going 1000 years back and tell them that there is something called cellphone that reaches the outside satellites to deliver your words to distance or whatever! They will call you crazy and insult you until they find it out themselves :) , hope you get my point :)
